As part of Polska! Year, the theatre Teatr Biuro Podróży performed two plays: Macbeth: Who Is This Bloodied Man and Świniopolis, and was hailed one of the greatest highlights of the festivals in London, Belfast and Inverness. The theatre Teatr Zar from Wrocław which cooperates with the Grotowski Institute and draws from the tradition of Polish alternative theatre also received great critical acclaim. The programme also featured two exhibitions devoted to the work of Polish theatre artists Jerzy Grotowski and Tadeusz Kantor, both accompanied by scholarly conferences devoted to the influence of Grotowski and Kantor on British theatre.
