As part of Polska! Year, works by some of the most eminent Polish composers – Penderecki, Lutosławski, Panufnik and Górecki – were presented to the public. The 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin’s birthday was also grandly celebrated. Among the greatest music events of 2010 “The Times” listed the festival of Polish music curated by Nigel Kennedy, the renowned British violinist and artistic director of the Krakow Philharmonic. The artist is to perform alongside Michal Urbaniak and Krzesimir Debski at a concert of three violinists. Kennedy extended an invitation to the band Kroke, with which he released an album of pieces inspired with Jewish music, as well as the famous Polish singer Anna Maria Jopek, to perform in Great Britain.
